Moral Policing in Engineering Colleges in TamilNadu by ANNA UNIVERSITY

Anna University has come out with a rule that affected the students in all its colleges and also in those affiliated to it.

The Vice Chancellor has ruled that all students be barred from using the cell phones in the college premises including the hostel. The order has also barred students from wearing casual Jeans and T-Shirt in the college and hostel.

This order, the VC feels will help the students concentrate more on academics.

The VC has also banned Cultural Programmes in the college that actually act as a platform to showcase the talents of the students.

Raids are conducted by the university officials in hostels and punish students who possess cellphones and wear Jeans-T-shirts. The officials also scorn at Gents who speak to Lady students.

But this order is detrimental to the students' growth as the best students are those who excel in all activities. It is very evident that such actions only make the difference between IITs-BITS-NITs and that students from colleges in TamilNadu under Anna University.

Hope the Government -Court prevails over the University and revokes this ill-thought about and unjust order and focus on the overall development of the students.
